The Dispatch Hospice of Davidson County hosted its fourth annual Hearts for Hospice sending its “Cupid Crew” across Davidson County to safely distribute Valentine’s goodies to the agency’s patients and their families. Armed with handmade cards, stuffed animals, candy, flowers and balloons, volunteers dropped off items on the front porches of patients and their families at their homes, and to skilled nursing facilities or at the Hinkle Hospice House. The crew also surprised and brought goodies to non-Hospice of Davidson County residents at its partner skilled nursing facilities, the Davidson County Health Department and Davidson County Senior Services. ....
The Dispatch Hospice of Davidson County is asking the community to help support its annual Hearts for Hospice community project by donating Valentine’s-themed items to the non-profit. The agency is looking for donations of handmade or store-bought cards, new stuffed animals, new handheld games, candy, gift bags, small hygiene items and small Valentine’s-themed gifts. Volunteers and staff will safely deliver the items prior to Valentine’s Day to patients and their families at their homes, at skilled nursing facilities or at the Hinkle Hospice House. All donations can be dropped off in a designated area outside the Hospice of Davidson County administration building during normal business hours by Tuesday, Feb. 2. ....
