Church builds ramp for Monroe girl

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER Hillsdale Daily News HILLSDALE – A group of around 60 area residents met on the Courthouse lawn on the National Day of Prayer, to pray for local and national leaders. Pastors representing various Christian denominations in Hillsdale County, as well as a group of participants, gathered to pray that those who lead the United States will be filled with wisdom and make choices based upon the word of God. The event, organized by Hillsdale Area Ministerial Association, was one of many held across the nation to lift the nation and its leaders in prayer. As the 70th annual event nationally, it has been ongoing for 20 years in Hillsdale, according to a founding minister, the Rev. Les Smith. Smith announced however, that for the first time in 70 years, a permit was not granted to hold the event at the nation s capitol.

Walk-ins being accepted on Wednesday at BHSJCHA COVID-19 vaccine clinics

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has announced they will accept walk-ins at both of its COVID-19 vaccination clinics on Wednesday. The clinic at Centreville High School will take walk-ins ages 16 and older from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.. The clinic at Hillsdale United Brethren Church will take walk-ins ages 18 and older from 1:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. and walk-ins ages 16 and 17 from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.. Both clinics are administering Moderna vaccine but will have limited quantities of Pfizer vaccine available for 16 and 17 year olds. Individuals living or working in Branch, Hillsdale or St. Joseph counties are eligible

Health Agency reinstitutes 14-day quarantine for COVID-19 close contacts

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With the surge of COVID-19 cases both locally and around the state, the Branch Hillsdale St. Joseph Community Health Agency has announced they are following state guidelines and reinstituting a standard 14-day quarantine for close contacts of COVID-19 cases. This will remove the option of a 10-day quarantine for non-variant cases. Health Officer Rebecca Burns says that because of the increased number of cases, there may also be a delay in contacting someone who tests positive for the virus or has been in close contact to someone who has COVID-19. Burns says if you receive a positive COVID-19 test result, isolate for at least 10 days from the start of your symptom(s) or your positive test date if you didn’t have symptoms. Notify your close contacts that they may have been exposed and encourage them to quarantine for 14 days from their last date of contact with you.
