Could completely change how the presidency operates. i was struck in terms of what jack smith s team, they argument, quote, rather than vindicating our constitutional framework, the defendant s immunity claim threatens donald trump is running to be president. he could license himself. exactly. that s why this is sort of an extra level of concern and controversiality here. i think what s important to note is we don t know whether there s such thing as criminal immunity. that s never been firmly established by the supreme court. i think david does a good job of laying out what the arguments trump s team have made have been. the problem, though, is was donald trump s conduct actually in the scope of what the president s supposed to be. i understand the argument would be he has broad powers. it s hard to look at the actual facts as if donald trump was sort of neutrally trying to oversee the elections. any reasonable reading is he s

Local affiliates, reporting that the area of campus is fear the bell tower part of campus. so those in the area watching us in north carolina, that is the part of the campus currently on lockdown. local affiliates also reporting middle schools are on a soft lockdown, again this is very fluid information with the alert going out from the university to those in the area. and we ll pay close attention to that, nick. obviously a lot of details we re trying to pin down as police are responding to an armed and dangerous person on or near the campus at unc chapel hill. nick, thank you so much. let s hope the students are safe. ahead, a hearing today on whether donald trump s co-defendants in georgia can move their cases from state court to federal court. the decision could have big implications for others involved in that case. we ll explain. chevy sisilverado has what it takes to do it all.
Hearing what his positions may be. he really is emphasizing how much he s doing things, believe they were part of his jobs, because the president was asking him to do those things. he wasn t working for the campaign and they didn t report to him, but he felt he needed to take certain steps, and so far the testimony has not been about the raffensperger cause. they have walked through every piece of the allegation, text messages he was allegedly sending, a visit he made in georgia to try to watch an audit of one of the county s elections here. all of that they have gotten meadows under oath to say exactly why he was interested in it. many times he has said he didn t recall reaching out working for donald trump or his campaign in setting up they things, but he over and over again is saying i bless there was a general
So those are two answers to that point. remember, though, on top of all of that, in order to remove this case, there has to be a plausible federal law defense being advanced. that isn t even seriously being talked about. the only thing that s really been put forward on that is the crazy idea that donald trump has made and argued really throughout his entire administration and now that, because he was president, essentially he s absolutely immune from being challenged to anything he does. that s a silly and foolish argument, too. so i think he probably clearly loses on both parts. interesting interesting points you make that are really informative and to your point, the d.a. arguing the hatch act in court. donald, great to have you. thank you for taking us through that. thanks for having me.
