New Jersey is requesting emergency help from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to fix damaged dunes and beaches carved up by last week s strong nor easter.
In a letter sent Monday to the Army Corps offices in Philadelphia, New York City and Fort Hamilton, New York, acting state Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Shawn M. LaTourette asked the corps to prioritize nine beaches that received major damage during the storm.
