MANILA - The southwest monsoon or "habagat" and a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring some rains mostly to the western section of the country on Saturday. In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was last estimated at 825 km. east of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte. Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bataan, Western Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Davao region, Soccsksargen, and the Bangsamoro region, brought by the "habagat".
