Tennessee has hired three new coaches with first-time head coach Brian Callahan bringing former Cincinnati colleague Colt Anderson with him as the Titans' new special teams coordinator. The Titans also announced Tuesday the hiring of Scott Fuchs as assistant offensive line coach and Steve Donatell as defensive assistant. Anderson worked with Callahan in Cincinnati the past four seasons where he was assistant special teams coach.
After Joe Burrow was lost for the season with a wrist injury in November, coach Zac Taylor insisted the Bengals had been built to win even without their franchise quarterback. Backup Jake Browning exceeded expectations by winning three of his first four starts, helping Cincinnati get into the heat of the playoff race the week before Christmas.
With a mostly meaningless loss to the Bengals in the books, the Browns could turn their attention to preparing for their first playoff game in three years. Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski rested most of his starters Sunday in a 31-14 loss to Cincinnati. The Browns will play at AFC South champion Houston in the wild-card round next weekend.
With Joe Flacco sitting out the finale to rest for the playoffs, Driskel makes his Cleveland debut as the fifth quarterback to start for the Browns this season. The 30-year-old Driskel was recently signed off Arizona's practice squad and this could be an audition for him to back up Flacco in the postseason. Driskel made five starts for the Bengals in 2018.
