Hadley Select Board denies open meeting violation

HADLEY Members of the Select Board are denying that they violated the state’s Open Meeting Law in adopting a new COVID-19 vaccine policy related to entrance to town buildings last month.
The board Wednesday voted 4-0, with Jane Nevinsmith abstaining, to reject the complaint filed by former Select Board member John Allen about its May 12 decision allowing anyone to enter town buildings or go on municipal property, whether or not that person is vaccinated.
The vote came moments before the board made a series of decisions that, using state Department of Public Health guidelines, will open up town buildings, including the Hadley Public Library and Hadley Senior Center, with few restrictions on use.

HADLEY Worry that residents and employees who don’t get a COVID-19 vaccine, or other similar vaccinations, will not be allowed inside municipal buildings or onto town-owned spaces prompted the Select Board to create a policy to safeguard public access.
In a 4-1 vote Wednesday, with board member Jane Nevinsmith dissenting, the new vaccine policy states that “the public shall not be denied access to town buildings, facilities, property, or events based upon vaccine status unless otherwise required by law.”
Minerva Arts became so popular, two new groups have started. Middlewich Youth Theatre has been launched after a previous youth theatre had to close due to Covid-19. Two age groups meet on Wednesdays at Middlewich Community Centre in Queen Street. The junior session runs from 5.30pm to 7pm and seniors from 7.30pm to 9pm. All sessions are built around the ideas of young people. Whether they want to be orphans who run away to become pirates or people trying to find their way out of an all too real escape room scenario, Minerva is dedicated to making their imaginations come to life.
More vaccine clinics, appointments open across the Triad

GREENSBORO, N.C. More COVID-19 vaccine clinics and appointments have opened in Guilford, Forsyth, and Davidson counties. The additional clinics have opened as the state slowly inches toward herd immunity.
The vaccine clinics have called on yet-to-be-vaccinated individuals to take advantage of the openings and book appointments.
A pop-up vaccine clinic opened in East Greensboro, Monday and will continue on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The clinic is located in the parking lot of the Renaissance Shops right off Phillips Avenue.
