Theyre going to be pulling some gs as they come through the atmosphere as the Heat Shield heats up to about 3,000 Degrees Fahrenheit. It will create a friction. That plasma is whats described as Blackout Zone where you dont have Radio Communication because the Radio Signals Cant Travel through that plasma. But theyre inside pulling some gs, but its not uncomfortable. Its a little bit when the gs pile up a bit, it takes a little more effort to breathe, but its not too big of a deal. Coming down, when i came down in a capsule in the soyuz capsule, theres a parachute. Its either going to come out or its not. That was the big event for me. Doctor, talk to us about the process when getting out of the spacecraft after a splash landing. How long does it take to get used to being back on land . Oh, well, the process takes just a little while while they get the folks inside. But once they exit the vehicle, theyll probably have a little bit of Sea Legs once they get onto solid surface, a flat su
Warp speed and traveled the intergalactic universe. This is like nothing hes ever seen before. What a day for our astronauts. Our team is preparing landing operations. And maybe well talk to the worlds newest astronauts. Some absolutely breathtaking stuff. Ill note that youre going to see our the Recovery Team show up very shortly, because we actually send them out before the capsule has landed. Because through our modelling, we get by now were very, very good at analyzing where the capsule is going to come down given where the winds are. And so were going to see the Recovery Team come out there, and, of course, they will also be joined by some of their friends and family to watch as they emerge from the capsule. Lets check out these beautiful shots of our four astronauts in the texas desert after having gone up over the carmen line and back. Here is a shot of them awaiting the Recovery Team. I understand theyve had communication with the four astronauts and they have all given the thu
And just to point out it will be a few hours before like, following docking to the hatch opening. but right now, the crew is in their space suits because they have to wear their space suits when they re going through a dynamic phase of flight which includes, of course, the launch, but also this docking period. but shortly after the docking and pressurization is completed. they ll be able to stake off the space suits. get into comfortable clothes and open that hatch and get on that space station, something that the crew members have dreamed of sorry, rachel, yes, let s listen into what they re saying as they inch closer to the docking. still seeing good alignment.
This. they re approaching the international space station where it s expected to dock in about an hour. you see live pictures of this happening right now. see the spaceship endeavour from the vantage point of the station below. it s making a series of burns as it makes this approach before it will travel to the very top and attach to the international space station on node 2, the zenith port. shortly after docking, they make a hard docking with latches and hooks and pressurize everything, there will be the hatch opening, and this crew of four will enter the international space station. there ll be a welcome ceremony. the space station is pretty crowded right now, you guys. there s already seven people on board. so once they enter, there will be 11. so there will be some people sleeping in the hallways, you guys. oh, my goodness. will they even sleep. can you get used to sleeping as
