Nelson and Colne College Group make donations to foodbanks An East Lancashire college has distributed thousands of items to nine foodbanks in the run up to Christmas. Nelson and Colne College Group provided foodbanks in Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Rossendale and Leyland with donations as part of the national Further Education Foodbank Friday initiative, which has taken place since lockdown began in March. Initially, £1,500 was raised and donated to three local foodbanks in the spring, but that soon developed into donations of store cupboard items as well as treats in the lead up to Christmas.
