night. alexis mcadams is live in our new york city newsroom. reporter: the family of that fallen nypd officer is planning his funeral, and we re also hearing new audio from officers at the scene in harlem which shows just how quickly this tragedy all unfolded. listen. reporter: now, this is where it all happened. the shooting happening inside of this harlem apartment complex on friday night. look at that heavy police presence there. three nypd officers responding to a 911 call from a woman who says she was fighting with her adult son, but she did not tell investigators anything about weapons being many that department. so two officers try to speak with this man, and that s when they say he opened fire. that ambush left one officer dead and another in critical condition. nypd identifying the officer who was killed as 22-year-old jason rivera, a husband, a friend and a son.
