A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in Wilmington s Harlan Park section, police said.
The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. in the 500 block of W. 35th St., where police say they found the teen suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
Officers investigating the scene were focused on a few different front yards as a bicycle was laid on the sidewalk near where investigators were taking photos. Police could be seen asking residents on the block to share any security camera footage they may have had.
Police tape closed 35th Street Monroe Street, just outside of P.S. du Pont Middle School.
