PANAMA CITY Very rarely do brothers of different ages graduate together, but Haney Technical Center had two sets of brothers graduate Thursday night.
Michael Mancia, 20, and Marck Mancia, 22, along with Cole Moreau, 26, and Seth Moreau 29, graduated from Haney on Thursday. Even though the brothers from both families are graduating at the same time, they didn t start at the same time.
For the Mancia brothers, Marck started at Haney first by registering for the electrical program, which inspired Michael to join after him. Their family immigrated from El Salvador in Central America in 2006 and this was a great moment for their family.
PANAMA CITY There hadn t been an interruption in the annual Mardi Gras party in historic St. Andrews since it began more than two decades ago until this year.
Last year s event preceded the pandemic lockdowns, and this year s event was postponed from February until later in the year, when more people would (with any luck) have received vaccinations. It s kind of like rescheduling Christmas, said Robbie Fehrenbach with the St. Andrews Waterfront Project, one of the people who helped get the celebration started in St. Andrews back in 1997. But people are ready to have, to celebrate, and we re resilient enough that we re going to do this.
