And hanging from the giving tree with little tags, not with names of children, but with things that profile of a child and things that those children would like to have under the tree if they had one at christmas. and some of them were typical. i d like a video game, or i d like a remote controlled car, but we were really moved by a couple of the requests. one young boy, who was probably 12 or 13 years old, said he wanted underwear for christmas. i mean, what kid wants underwear for christmas? you have to really be in need if you want undershirts for your christmas present. another young child had asked for toiletries, soap and a hairbrush comb, things like that. so we pulled a lot of these tags off of this tree. we got as many as we possibly could thinking that there were children out there who were under the umbrella of our church who could really benefit from having some of the simplest things in life.
