the group indivisible. thank you both for joining me this morning. happy new year. megan let me start with you, most politicians today can only dream of a bipartisan approval rating like the one john roberts just got in this any survey. what is his appeal to democrats and republicans alike and tell us why you think he doesn t deserve it. i m excited to tell you why i think he doesn t deserve it. it has a lot of shades of joe biden and nancy pelosi saying we need a strong republican party that s what makes the country great. there are probably a lot of liberals who believe that and john roberts represents that type of person, he s respectable, went to harvard, seems nice enough. so even though he s doing bad stuff he s figured out a way to do it without getting any bad p.r. right. so even though he gutted the voting rights act and gutted obamacare and made it more
order to get things done, but donald trump isn t the other side. he and mitch mcconnell are theoretically on the same team. well, the president has made pretty clear that he wants to get a deal done. obviously he s changing every single day who that party is going to be that he gets that deal done with. we ve made it clear as problem solvers, the caucus that i co-chair, we ve come together and said, okay, let s sit at the table. there are things like tax reform and health care where we can find an agreement. it really isn t showing up anywhere. look at health care reform. we proposed the only bipartisan solution part of health care, and he called over the weekend and said, okay, i m ready to talk about what you propose. what they propose is what we think you need to do to move forward. that s great, but what the president did on friday in terms of signing an executive order gutted obamacare and will hurt
pain, you race the you raise the minimum wage and they were against if about they if the discussion is how much lost jobs are okay, that s where the discussion is, the republicans are in good shape. i think you re right. it was fun. thank you very much. sherry, rick. republicans say the white house health care delays should not just be for companies. congressman from louisiana has a bill that would delay the mandate for individuals as well and he unions us now. this is he joins us now. the fair act by myself and susan brooks from indiana. however, if you abandon the individual mandate, essentially, you have gutted obamacare, and i think, sir, you know that. don t you? well, stuart, the president is acknowledging that obamacare done work. it s unworkable, it s destroying jobs and taking away good health care for people.
