Fort Bend County celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by partnering with non-profit Lucille’s 1913 to donate ready-to-eat meals and PPE kits to Fort Bend County residents. Volunteers assembled at Gus George Academy in Richmond and Tony Beccera Park in Rosenberg. Chris Williams, chef and owner of Lucille’s 1913, created and distributed approximately 1000 individual meals on Monday, January 18.

The initiative begins at 11 a.m. with two distribution drives in Fort Bend County. In Richmond 1,000 smothered pork chop and mashed potato meals and 500 PPE kits each will be given out at Gus George Academy, and 1,000 bistec a la mexicana and rice and bean meals will be passed out at Tony Becerra Park in Rosenberg. At 2 p.m. Lucille s 1913 will land at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Fifth Ward, where the non-profit will distribute an additional 1,000 pork chop meals.
