The co-founder of Gumbo Limbo Nature Center's Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Facility expresses dismay at the nonprofit Coastal Stewards' taking over the facility from the city of Boca Raton and questions whether donors should be funding the nonprofit after staff and trustees have resigned.
Over 600 registered for the Gumbo Limbo 5K & 1 Mile and over 75 children took part in the kids' run at the Spanish River Athletic Complex in Boca Raton on April 23.
The move follows recent internal turmoil of the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center injured turtles were moved elsewhere after the primary veterinarian resigned.
