Black Restaurant Week comes to Las Vegas through March 21, showcasing six local restaurants and highlighting reviving and saving the Black restaurant industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurants offer prix-fixe brunch, lunch, and dinner menus. Pots, the Egyptian restaurant from Iman Haggag, has a shawarma combo with crispy cauliflower shawarma sandwich, Egyptian fries, and a choice of karkadeh (hibiscus extract tea) or iced tea for $14.95 at her restaurant on South Rainbow Boulevard. Simply Pure by chef Stacey Dougan in the Downtown Container Park offers vegan and vegetarian fare. For Black Restaurant Week, diners can order a nacho grande with lime corn chips, vegan protein beef, cheddar cheese sauce, scallions, sour cream, and pico de gallo for $7.95 for a half order or $12.95 for a full order. Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles from founder Larry “Lo-Lo” White offers Southern fare such as fried chicken and soul food in the northwest.
