we re live in san francisco, rick boon, nbc bay area news. a daughter killed her mother in the hospital after an early morning crash in fremont. this was the scene just after 2:00 this morning on fremont boulevard and darwin drive. police say the mother and daughter were trying to make a u-turn when an oncoming car crashed into them. the daughter 18 years old died at the scene and the mother expected to survive. firefighters talked about the crash like this. one was making a u-turn and the other was on fremont boulevard coming from southbound going northbound so one of them obviously ran a red light. two in another car suffered minor injuries. after a massive fire crews dismantled an unstable crane damaged yesterday in emeryville. it was a threat to topple over on to nearby homes and power lines. those evacuated were allowed to return home to get some things. this is the second time in less than a year that the large building at the site caught fire. the oracle are

looping back around heading back out into the sea possibly restrengthening and doing a second landfall near houston. so we are talking a very prolonged period this is all the way through the next four or five days that this storm is going to be bringing rain to the coastline of texas which is why we are talking very very high amounts of rain. from corpus christi up to houston. 15, 25-inches of rain. that s the big concern about flooding but there are other concerns with this storm. the surge six to 12 feet from padre island national seashore up into sergeant, texas and winds 74 miles per hour or more. that s that hurricane force winds. very scary and then there s a severe component guys they could be seeing tornadoes as we head through the next few hours. i ll be keeping track of it, as well as our forecast back here, guys, looking absolutely beautiful. it s tough to talk about texas want they re expecting down there when it s so gorgeous out here. we ll check in a few minu

guys, we have a look at the watches and warnings lighting up the texas coastline and even further inland we re dealing with tropical storm warnings, hurricane warnings, and flood warnings surge warnings and now we re also adding in another component. a severe weather component. tornado watches in effect as this makes landfall. we re going to see a lot of wind and the possibility for some tornadoes. here s a look at the threats of the storm. as it once again does make landfall we re expecting floo flooding with some areas getting over 25-inches of rain. that s the biggest concern with this. the very high rainfall expected the surge surge also a big issue. six to 12 feet and we re thinking some of the biggest areas with the highest surge is south padre national sea shore all up into sergeant texas. within at 74 miles an hour and again that severe component tornadoes are possible win the next few hours. here s a look at that forecast. we have it now at category three hurricane
