Just 40km north of Auckland, you’ll find the historic village of Puhoi. Settled in 1863 by immigrants from Bohemia, the town has retained much of its original character, with its striking old church, town hall and tiny library. Stop for refreshments at the 140-year-old Puhoi Pub, and don’t leave without visiting the famous Puhoi Valley cafe and cheese store.
