Itâs a question on the minds of millions of Americans as the first doses of Pfzierâs vaccine were shipped out of Portage, Mich. Sunday.
According to Dr. Moncef Slaoui, chief science adviser for the federal governmentâs Operation Warp Speed, to reach herd immunity we need 75% to 80% of the U.S. population immunized against COVID-19.
The FDA says the data shows the vaccine is safe and effective and the benefits greatly outweigh the risks.
