Presidente Supermarkets to Open 7 Stores in 2021

Presidente Supermarkets has revealed plans to open seven grocery stores across Florida this year, mainly in the tri-county area (Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties), according to a published report. The Miami-based Hispanic independent grocer already operates 31 stores in the state, the South Florida Business Journal reported, but the new stores are part of its rebooted expansion effort, which includes debuting locations elsewhere in Florida.  The company will open four stores in South Florida and three in Orlando by the end of the year, the publication noted, adding that the first of these new Orlando stores had already opened last month at 7653 South Orange Blossom Trail. Presidente Supermarkets plans to open seven more grocery stores across Florida in 2021, reports Progressive Grocer. The chain will focus on the tri-county area of Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties. Presidente Supermarkets already operates 31 stores in the state. In addition, the grocer plans to introduce a new wholesale concept, Grand Plaza Distributors, this year, with its first location slated for Kissimee, Florida. The new stores and wholesale concept will create more than 500 jobs, according to Presidente.

Presidente Supermarkets Introducing Wholesale Concept

Managing Editor Presidente Supermarkets, which operates more than 30 stores in Florida, employing about 2,600 associates, plans to debut a wholesale concept in central Florida this year. Independent Hispanic grocer Presidente Supermarkets aims to introduce a wholesale concept this year in central Florida that will sell products in bulk to low-income shoppers, according to a published report.  The first store under this concept, to be called Grand Plaza or Grand Plaza Distributors, will occupy an approximately 100,000-square-foot space in Kissimmee, at 2211 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, a former Kmart site that Presidente acquired last December, the Orlando Business Journal reported, adding that the retailer also intends to have seven grocery stores in central Florida by the close of this year.
