New Archie Foundation chairwoman ‘hopeful and optimistic’ for future
Children’s hospital charity The Archie Foundation has named trustee Carol Munro as its new chairwoman.
And after serving on its board of trustees for three years – most recently as vice-chairwoman – she is “hopeful and optimistic” about the future of the organization.
The charity, which supports children’s healthcare in Aberdeen, Elgin, Inverness and Dundee, found its income plummet by two-thirds over the last year due to the pandemic.
And while there is still uncertainty following The Archie Foundation’s “toughest year of its 21-year history,” Mrs Munro said it is vital its work continues. ....

The Archie Foundation is encouraging people to make next month A-May-Zing .
A children’s charity is encouraging people to take advantage of the easing Covid restrictions and make a difference for sick youngsters and their families.
With the pandemic forcing the cancellation of many events during the past year, income for The Archie Foundation has dropped by two thirds.
The organisation supports children’s hospitals in Aberdeen, Inverness and Dundee by funding specialist staff, key equipment and parent accommodation.
It also helps Friends of the Neonatal Unit at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Grampian Child Bereavement Network. ....

A new chief executive has been announced for children’s charity The Archie Foundation, following a “devastating” year where it effectively had to “start from scratch”.
The organisation, which supports children’s hospitals in Aberdeen, Inverness and Dundee, suffered a 67% fall in income compared to 2019.
As the pandemic took hold and fundraising slowed, the charity also found itself with more people in desperate need of help.
A number of its key roles and services were also placed at risk as a result of the cash flow concerns. ....
