Headquarters in new york. Breaking right now, were waiting for the first News Conference from the brand new Speaker Of The House, mike johnson. He won with a slim majority from the republicans but they were lined up this time around, which we have not seen in the prior three rounds. This happened three weeks after they ousted former speaker, Kevin Mccarthy. This is a beautiful country. Its the beauty of america that allows a firefighters kid like me to come here and serve in this Sacred Chamber where great men and women have served before all of us and strive together to build and preserve what lincoln referred to as the last best hope on earth. Martha well hear from mr. Johnson about what he plans to do as he takes on this very big role in the United States government. Also, on the other front, a very big afternoon as President Biden spoke today, he spoke quite briefly actually, in a News Conference that everybody was waiting all day for about what we now know have been attacks on u.

Welcome back. no need to reach for the remote or adjust your tv. the story we re about to talk about is essentially the same one we talked about three weeks ago, thanks to your dysfunctional congress in washington. yes, we re staring at yet another government shutdown possibility. this calendar should look all too familiar. this time february 8 is the day the government will run out of money unless a new spending plan gets done. in all likelihoolikelihood, it another continuing resolution that merely buys lawmakers more time, probably a few weeks, to reach something they can agree on. how paul ryan reached across the aisle. we are voting on another budget this week. the only reason we do not have a full budget agreement is because the democrats hold hostage the military as a game of pawns.
