Reps probe Jonathan’s N500m safe-school project over Chibok abductions

THE House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the alleged abandonment of Federal Government’s Safe School Initiative, especially the N500m allocated to the rehabilitation of the Government Secondary School Chibok, Borno State, where Boko Haram abducted over 200 schoolgirls.
The probe is coming in the wake of incessant attacks on schools, abduction and killing of students, especially in the northern part of Nigeria.
The Goodluck Jonathan-led administration had launched the Safe School Initiative after the insurgents attacked the Chibok school.
The initiative was to ensure that all schools in Nigeria were safe from further attacks.
