IRR on adoption of digital payments ready in few weeks: DBM

MANILA - The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is well within the timeline of drafting the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Executive Order (EO) 170, which mandates the adoption of digital payments for government disbursements and collections. E0 170, signed by former President Rodrigo Duterte on May 12, recognizes that the adoption of digital payments will facilitate the expedient distribution of financial assistance to beneficiaries. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (File photo) MANILA - President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has issued an executive order (EO) approving the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the coconut farmers in the country. Under EO 172 inked on June 2, Duterte emphasized the significance of having a plan for the development of the coconut industry. "There is a need to approve the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan to increase overall productivity and income of coconut farmers, alleviate poverty, and achieve the twin objectives of rehabilitating and modernizing the coconut industry to attain social equity," Duterte said in the EO. MANILA - President Rodrigo R. Duterte has signed an executive order (EO) directing government departments and agencies to utilize digital payments for government disbursements. EO 170, signed by Duterte on May 12, recognizes that the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the benefits of utilizing digital payment services across various sectors, as it enabled a fast, convenient, secure, and transparent mode of delivering government services and transacting business. 'Bayanihan, Bakunahan' recipients exempted from work

(File photo) MANILA - Public and private sector employees who will be vaccinated during the "Bayanihan, Bakunahan" National Covid-19 Vaccination Days will be exempted from work, according to a new proclamation signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday. Proclamation No. 1253 formally declared November 29 to December 1 as "Bayanihan, Bakunahan" National Covid-19 Vaccination Days. "Employees and workers of the government and the private sector, who will be vaccinated during the period, shall not be considered absent from their work, provided that they present proof of vaccination to their respective employers, subject to rules that may be issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC)," the proclamation read.
