The Philippines climbed a few spots in a global ranking of mobile internet speeds in July, according to the latest figures released by global internet speed monitoring firm Speedtest by Ookla.
In just a year, the Philippines posted an "impressive rate of growth" in terms of internet speeds and government said it will ensure that the upward trajectory continues in the coming months.

This, after the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) completed the installation of the free high-speed internet in the LTO 7 office.
In September 2020, LTO 7 Regional Director Victor Emmanuel Caindec and DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan signed the memorandum of agreement between the two agencies to provide better services to the public.
DICT, which is implementing the Government Network (GovNet), aims to help address the basic needs of the government for transparency, efficiency and effective governance through ICT.
