Leon County School leaders named her this year s Glenn-Howell Award recipient.
Each year, one of five recipients takes home the honor given to a teacher for making an outstanding impact on minority students.
The Godby teacher says it s a blessing to be able to give back to the community that shaped her. One of the blessings, the greatest blessings, is I get to teach and coach at the same place, at Godby High school, where I was a student and a player, said Johnson Muir. And just trying to build those footprints and leave footprints along the lines of a servant s heart. Just allowing these young people to know that they can be and do anything they want to be, and there is proof in the pudding, and that s me.
