normally when you say that l.a. river, it s a joke. you could drive your car down it. movies have been shot in it. really, there has been so much rain over the last 24 hours from tropical storm hillary that this river as you can see behind me is flowing. it is a fast flowing river and all of that rain that has fallen really causing flooding throughout the region. we are hearing of power outages as well as cancellations. parking lots are underwater. it is making driving conditions throughout the greater los angeles area not only really tough and difficult, but also extremely dangerous. out in palm springs in the desert communities, they got a heavy dose of nonstop rain. at one point it was so bad that crews had to pump water out of a nearby hospital. it s not just the flooding. all of that ring combined with very loose and dry ground is only a recipe for disaster. we saw mudslides and mud flows throughout the region as a result of tropical storm hil hillary. well we have see
