A South Gate grandfather was allegedly shot and killed while answering the door of his home. The shooting happened in front of his granddaughter, deputies say.
Hector Ascencio, Sr., 57, was fatally gunned down at his home on the 2500 block of Glenwood Place in the city of South Gate on Sept. 16, 2023, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
