Voters in South Lyon will elect a mayor and three city council members in November.
If you would like your name to appear on the ballot as a candidate for one of the positions, you must file by 4 p.m., July 20.
Deputy Clerk Judy Pieper said only two candidates had filed to run as of June 30. Dan Pelchat is seeking reelection to a 2-year term as mayor and Alex Hansen is vying for one of the 4-year seats on city council.
The council seats up for grabs are currently held by Glenn Kivell, Carl Richards, and Rose Walton. We are hoping for more candidates to make it more of a race, Pieper said. The last (city council) election was two years ago, and we had a few people throw their hats in the ring.
