Milford s Second Street Players is continuing to bring live theater to the region with its next production of An Evening of Culture: Faith County II by Mark Landon Smith. The show s prequel, Faith County, was produced by SSP in 2015. The comedy has us revisiting a small town in Arkansas where members of the Mineola Council for Cultural Recognition are presenting a performance of Romeo and Juliet. They attempt to bring to life one of the Bard s classic plays on their cheaply built and constantly collapsing stage. Hilarity ensues as it soon becomes evident none are too sure of their lines, some are too old for their roles, the set is falling apart, and a dog will not shut up! ....
February 10, 2021 The weather is chilly and the pandemic is still threatening, but Possum Point Players Radio Theatre invites everyone to a safe, warm presentation of humorous and nostalgic live radio theatre at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, at Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Highway, Georgetown. Theatre seating is appropriately spaced according to Division of Public Health protocols, and mask-wearing is required. Movement to and from restroom facilities is guided, and hand sanitizer is available throughout the theatre. Possum Point Players Radio Theatre is an affiliate of the Possums’ community theatre group. PPP Radio Theatre member Bernie Noeller said the presentation is suitable for all ages and promises a fun-filled program of re-creating old-time radio broadcasts from the 1940s. The players will read from scripts taken from the Golden Age of Radio, and the sound effects man can be seen busily providing such scripted noises as a little thunder, dinner di ....
