Ahead of 2023 polls, the indigenes of Offa, the headquarters of Offa Local Government area of Kwara State have thrown their weight behind the second term bid of the state governor Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The endorsement of the people of the town came a week after the monarch of the town, Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi publicly endorsed the Governor for the second term come 2023.
The Offa people, which is the second largest town in the state, hinged their decision on what they called superlative performance of AbdulRazaq in the last two years.
Describing him as a goal getter, the people said the difference in the development in the state is very clear, comparing with what was obtainable in the past.

Ilorin…Political rumblings have resumed in Kwara state over the call by a revered monarch in the state, His Royal Majesty, Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to contest for second term because of what he described as his exceptional performance in the last two years which no other governor in the history of the state had attained within the same period.
But one of the arch political enemies of the governor who currently represents the community in the State House of Assembly, Hon Saheed Popoola, an indigene of Offa, tackled his monarch for this public declaration of support. However, some indigenes of the town, particularly from the ruling All Progressives Congress, who felt offended by the lawmaker’s attack gathered at their town hall on Thursday to reprimand the lawmaker.

Indigenes of Offa LGA of Kwara State on Thursday threw their weight behind the second term bid of Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq.
This is coming a week after the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, publicly endorsed the governor and months after a similar one by some stakeholders in Kaiama, Kwara North
According to the indigenes who expressed full support for the monarch’s action, the new endorsement was hinged on what they described as the superlative performance of AbdulRazaq in the last two years.
Describing Abdulrazaq as a goal getter, the people said the difference in the development in the state is very clear, compared with what obtained in the past.

Ilorin, Jan. 19, 2021 Kwara Government will on Jan. 20, begin paying 2,300 victims of the recent rainstorm in Ilorin, the state capital, Mrs Habibat Yusuf, Chairperson of the Implementation Committee on Ilorin Rainstorm Disasters, has announced.
”Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq recently set up a committee to implement the report of a rainstorm committee in Kwara and the disbursement will commence tomorrow, Jan. 20, 2021, at the Civil Service Commission headquarters, Ilorin.
”Preloaded ATM cards will be presented to each beneficiary spanning three categories,” she said.
She added that the three categories represented the varying sums of N25,000, N50,000 and N100,000, to be presented to each victim, depending on the extent of damage they suffered.

Kwara State Government will, on Wednesday, begin the disbursement of funds to 2,300 victims of recent rainstorm in Ilorin, the state capital.
“His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, recently set up a committee to implement the reports of a rainstorm committee in Kwara State and the disbursement will commence tomorrow, January 20, 2021, at the Civil Service Commission headquarters Ilorin,” chairman of the Implementation Committee on Ilorin Rainstorm Disasters Hajia Habibat Yusuf announced in a statement.
Other members of the implementation committee are Prof. Badmus O Yusuf; Mrs Bilqees M. Oladimeji; Gidado Alakawa; Stephen A. Awoyale; Bola Olojoku; Prof. Hamzat Abdulraheem; while Mrs Adaran Motunrayo, serves as the Secretary.
