Hall this noon with a look at a city in crisis. John . John the city is slowly trying to get back to normal this afternoon. We can show you city hall here downtown. Definitely an eerie scene even though no violence, no unrest today. But you can see all of the military presence. City hall still looking like a military base at this hour. You can still see a number of National Guardsmen standing guard armed with high powered rifles and humvees lined up and they have the fencing, the metal fencing surrounding city hall. And choppers flying up above. Some 3,000 National Guardsmen and police from different jurisdictions have been spread out across the city for the past couple of days. And about 30 d. C. Police officers have been called up to assist here at city hall. The man suffered a medical emergency on the floor at the Xfinity Center. That shocked spectators coming to the campus to watch a High School Championship game. You imagine thousands of High School Students here to watch that championship game. The man walked out on to the floor of the Xfinity Center here tonight. He began to sing the National Anthem when something horrible happened. He took a knee and apparently collapsed and rescuers were there. They rushed in and began to perform cpr. Once things settled down students of both teams decided to go ahead and sing the National Anthem. News 4 is not identifying the man but apparently performed the National Anthem for three other games here this evening and collapsed. He taken to the hospital for treatment. Thanks. New this morning, we are working to find out why two Police Cruisers collided in d. C. It happened on south capitol street. Derrick ward is live with video of what happened. Reporter this intersection is cleared now. Just a few seconds ago, both vehicles were towed away. Take a look. This was the scene earlier. Metropolitan police say 5 45 this morning, a sedan and suv collided here at south capitol and southeast. The crash was sufficient and the air bags in the sedan were deployed. Two officers were injured, but not seriously. They just cleared the scene after making all their markings and documents the crash. Again, two officers injured, but not seriously. We dont know whether they were responding to an emergency call whether they had lights and sirens going. We believe these were the only two vehicles involved. The intersection is cleared. Black outfits and disguises hit the bank behind me march 16th, but this time the police were able to track lem down. Down them down. The brazen broad daylight stickup of wells fargo on connecticut avenue proved to be the final act of the socalled black hat bandits. Police arrested Thomas Anthony george and Dewitt Ralph Hall about an hour after the heist southeast apartment. They found a black suburban there, black handgun and after george waived his right to silence a wealth of information about the black hat bandit. After his arrest george admitted to robbing all nine banks the fbi was investigating linked to the group. The robberies stretched back to january. In each case spread across northern virginia, maryland and the district one or two men dressed in black usually with a black hat and some kind of disguise demanded money at gunpoint and threatened violence.
