San Francisco 49ers selected quarterback Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan has said veteran Jimmy Garoppolo will be the team’s starting quarterback to begin the 2021 season.
Many people remain skeptical on whether the 49ers will keep Lance on the sideline for the entire season. Team owner Jed York isn’t one of them. The 49ers selected Lance out of North Dakota State as their quarterback of the future, and York said he’s fine if that future could be as long as two years away.

Seattle Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll has usually preferred tall cornerbacks (at least 6-feet) with long arms (at least 32 inches).
The famous “Legion of Boom” secondary consisted of cornerbacks Richard Sherman (6-foot-3, 32-inch arms), Brandon Browner (6-3 1/2, 32 3/4-inch arms) and Byron Maxwell (6-foot, 33 1/2-inch arms). More recently, the Seahawks drafted Shaquill Griffin (6-foot, 32 3/8-inch arms) in the 2017 NFL draft and they signed free agent cornerbacks Ahkello Witherspoon (6-3, 33-inch arms) and Pierre Desire (6-1, 33-inch arms) in 2021.

Sherman hasn’t eliminated the possibility of returning to the Seattle Seahawks as he mulls his options.
“I spend my entire offseason in Seattle, that’s where I live, that’s where my family is. So, it’s never out of the cards,” Sherman said Wednesday of ESPN’s “First Take” show. “Obviously, Pete (Carroll) and I have had conversations throughout the offseason, and everything just needs to shake out right. They’re still figuring things out, I’m still figuring things out.”
