Royals intensity too much for lackadaisical Cougars

The Prince George Cougars might want to show up an hour earlier than normal the next time they line up against the Victoria Royals.
Another slow start for the Cats proved costly on Saturday as they fell 2-1 in Kelowna to the BC Division’s last place team for a third time this season.
Cougars Head Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb didn’t mince words on the lackadaisical effort.
“We played the same way as we practiced yesterday (Friday). It has a lot to do with the mindset, digging in and playing real hard. We probably got a little too happy with the way we have been playing as of late.”

Mired in a four-game slump, Prince George Cougars Head Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb decided to shake things up.
After putting the forward lines into a blender, the Cats regained their offensive stroke on Monday, defeating the Victoria Royals 4-1 from Sandman Centre in Kamloops.
“We really worked hard over the past couple days and after we lost that last game we had meetings to figure it out and we worked on some things and the guys bought in and worked hard.”
“We changed some lines around and that happens all the during the year to change things around and for the players it’s something fresh too and it worked,” said Lamb.
Giant mistake comes back to bite Cougars

In a game filled with hits, fights, saves and some timely offense, it was a defensive lapse that was the difference for the Prince George Cougars.
An errant clearing attempt by Ethan Samson inside the Cougar blueline led to a breakaway goal by Adam Hall at 11:30 of the third period to ensure a 2-1 victory for the Vancouver Giants on Monday from the Sandman Centre in Kamloops.

“We gave two points away right at the end. We didn’t stick with it and we turned the puck over, that’s the disappointing part because we did so many good things and then gave it away.”
Brennan’s brilliance not enough as Cougars fall to Giants

For the second game in a row, the Prince George Cougars came out flatter than a pancake.
Despite a stellar 43-save performance from Tyler Brennan, the Cougars were unable to rise to the occasion falling 1-0 in a shootout to the Vancouver Giants in Kamloops on Easter Sunday.
The contest resembled more of a half-court basketball game, where Brennan and his teammates were under siege for 65 consecutive minutes getting outshot 43-14 in the process.
