It was just halloween weekend, which is the foreigner, the night life district, the gay district of seoul. really a central hub in the city for a lot of people. so halloween weekend is the biggest night of the year for the neighborhood in seoul. a lot of people were expecting the crowds pre covid. i know a lot of friends who just totally avoided that area that weekend but for a lot of other people, it s a destination. a fear of missing out sort of thing because it s where almost everybody goes. halloween is not a traditional holiday in korea by any means, but over the past few years, it s really kind of picked up pace. especially in this neighborhood. it felt like home to be walking and the neighborhood and you see halloween decorations around so that s what this weekend was for a lot of people and obviously ended up a lot different will.
