The Havre Education Association hosted a Havre Public School Board candidate forum Thursday in Hensler Auditorium on the Montana State University-Northern campus. The forum was moderated by Chairman of the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Kyle Leeds. There were nine questions from the HEA and public questions as well as follow-up questions were allowed.

HEA sets school board candidate forum   Last updated 4/13/2021 at 11:49am The Havre Education Association is hosting a Havre Public School Board candidate forum Thursday in Hensler Auditorium at 7 p.m. The forum is limited to 25 family members and members of the press. The public is invited to watch via Zoom at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88060431149 . The forum questions will help the public and local teachers learn who the candidates are. The questions will be general questions that allow the candidates to voice their vision for the district and will not be specific to the district.

Ophus appointed to Havre Public School Board   Last updated 3/12/2021 at 12:01pm The Havre Public School Board of Trustees in a meeting Thursday appointed Garrit Ophus to take the recently vacated position of former Trustee Scott Adams. Michele Holden also applied to the position. Adams was appointed in December of last year to the position previously held by Brian Williams, who resigned from the board due to his move away from Havre. Adams resigned after less than three months on the board, prompting the remaining board members to, on the advice of Havre Public Schools’ legal advisor, immediately begin the search for a replacement at the beginning of this month.
