Maine ranks second in the country in the availability of organic food, based on organic farms per capita. This is according to a recent study published by Health-Ade.
One thing that stood out from the report is that the west coast seems to have more organic fruit farms, whereas the east coast seems to be better suited for organic vegetable farms. California is the state with the most organic fruit farms per capita, while Maine has the most organic vegetable farms.
