A retail investor in Basset & Gold (B&G) that Money Marketing reported on earlier this month has now been told by the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) that they will receive full compensation for the £120,000 they invested after a two and a half years wait.

A number of Basset & Gold investors are still awaiting compensation cheques from Gallium Fund Solutions “who are dragging their feet”, three years on from the company going into administration.
The Financial Ombudsman Service told Money Marketing it has received 252 complaints involving Basset & Gold (B&G) as of 5 December 2022. FOSs has upheld all cases related to B&G, except those that were outside of its jurisdiction.
