Since the 70s, Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe has captured innumerable stories of the Black community that have been featured in museums such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the National Gallery of Art . In 1995 she established the Arthur Ashe Endowment for the Defeat of AIDS, following the death of her husband, Arthur Ashe. For her, photography and activism are one and the same.
