Kevin Brown

Kevin Brown, a local musician and bluegrass enthusiast, has been hosting Front Porch Bluegrass on Spokane Public Radio since 2002. In the early 1980s at Whitworth College he spent most of his extracurricular time at the campus radio station, KWRS, where he served as Program Director and trained professor Leonard Oakland in his first radio show. Kevin never quite shook the radio bug after that, and several years later reached out to Leonard to get in the door at Spokane Public Radio.

KPBX Kids' Concert: Little Red Shed, June 19

Front Porch Bluegrass host Kevin Brown, Ken Glastre, and Charlie Gurche.   Thanks to KPBX Kids’ Concerts event donors Saye, Sayre, & Fossum, Attorneys at Law, Rocket Bakeries, and Harvard Park Children’s Learning Center, North. Little Red Shed Ken Glastre, Charley Gurche and Kevin Brown have been performing together for nearly 20 years as part of the rhythm & bluegrass quintet Big Red Barn. Little Red Shed is the trio version of this combo, with a repertoire that travels the slower backroads of American Roots Music with an easy, intuitive sense of direction that can only come from a lot of musical miles travelled together.
