Minor water leak soaked carpets and damaged Rochester library bookstore
A heating pipe burst and leaked water on the second floor of the Rochester Public Library. The leak was discovered Saturday afternoon. While reminiscent of the devastating 2019 leak, the damage appears to be much less and mostly limited to the closed Rochester Friends of the Library Book Store. 4:53 pm, Mar. 13, 2021 ×

Another water leak put a damper on the Rochester Public Library’s joy at being open again to the public on Saturday.
“The good news is that it is not nearly as bad as 2019,” said Library Director Audrey Betcher on Saturday afternoon. “We were so excited at finally being open again and then to have to deal with a maintenance issue right off the bat was not what we were planning on doing.”
