A bridge linking Swansea city centre to a £135m indoor arena and the coast has been lifted into place.
The Copr Bay Bridge is 160ft (49m) long and crosses Oystermouth Road, with council officials hoping it will become a landmark for the area.
Two mobile units lifted the pieces into place, with the road underneath closed overnight.
The bridge is expected to open to cyclists and pedestrians ahead of the arena s completion later this year. With its bold design that will complement the striking façade of the arena, the bridge will become a landmark for the city and an emblem nationally and internationally of a city that is going places, said council leader Rob Stewart.

It has become a cliché to say that the covid-19 pandemic has exposed underlying weaknesses in our economic model and accelerated existing changes in the way we live, but this is undoubtedly the case for retail. Bricks and mortar shops were already scrambling to redefine themselves in the face of e-commerce, striving to provide a physical experience that websites cannot replace. But in 2020, as non-essential shops were shuttered and most people confined to their homes, trade online rocketed even further.

ACME has scooped planning approval for a reimagined ‘slum pub’ in London’s East End as part of a revised version of its 15-storey Aldgate office scheme
