to a neighbor s house, 15, 20 miles, any kind of a relative, do it. that way you re ahead of the traffic that s going to come out tomorrow. but here s your 8 to 12-foot storm surge north of apalachicola and north of tampa. if this slides just a little bit because the storm turns a little bit to the right, like we saw in charlie, when charlie was supposed to hit tampa, it hit punta gorda. tampa s just on the wrong side of this turn if it happens. then all of this rainfall. more people now die from freshwater rainfall flooding than from storm surge because people know how to get away from the surge. but then they evacuate and they evacuate to here where it flash floods. so you have to really put all of these things together if you re going to get away from this storm. think about all of your options, when it arrives, probably the first tropical storm tomorrow night.
