In looking ways to protect our asianamerican brothers and sisters, rather than a broken system, we must invest in communitybased solutions. We have relied too long on police and prosecution and prisons to protect us from racialized violence. These institutions are systematically bias, disproportionate and dehumanizing. These institutions have failed in the last 170 years to remedy the root causes of violence in our community. We need to increase police presence, to have bureaucracy or to push for more incarceration. We call to invest in our community and to prioritize support for mental health and treatment and restorative justice and responses to racialized violence. To bring all people together, including our black, indigenous, communities to promote unity. We cannot charge and punish our way out of
