a lot of things were lost during that year. a lot of things could not happen that would ve been wonderful in as far as remembering the men of that generation. especially the ones who gave it all for us. including me. so this was my little family then. and this was probably the last photo ever taken of us together. my story could ve ended when my father s life ended, but it did n t. it went into a kind of not much going on, i was a baby, my mother remarried soon after that. i am not alone, i am one of about 183,000 children who were left fatherless. we were designated as war orphans by the veterans administration. and like so many of the people who i met which are children of world war ii, i have been on a journey of discovery my whole life and it s been an interesting one lately. all of us have a different story. the only commonality we have is the loss of our fathers. but some of us have a lot of that we have and some of us have a lot of memories and wonderful things people
