Village sign for Blackboys in Sussex is 'stolen'

The village sign for Blackboys in Sussex has been stolen, a council says. Framfield Parish Council is now asking anyone who knows who may be responsible for the theft to contact them. The authority says the metal posts on which the sign was mounted had been cut through with a saw, allowing for it to be removed. Sussex Police have been informed. The post read: Sadly, someone has sawn off the posts and stolen the village sign as you enter Blackboys from Framfield.

Christmas Tree Sale a resounding success

Earlier in November, we reported on 1 st Buxted (O’Brien’s Own) Scout Group running a Christmas Tree Sale to raise vital funds for the organisation We are pleased to report that the tree sale was a resounding success raising over four thousand pounds after online appeals and a radio appearance on the Morning show with Tony Williams “This years Tree Sale far outsold last years for which we are very grateful”!  Said the group; “It really makes all the hard work, time and effort from our Leaders and Executive Committee worthwhile. The trees and apple juice were either collected or delivered last Saturday, 5th December and the raffle drawn at midday with the hampers offering a little pre-Christmas treat for the winners. The sun even came out to add a little winter warmth”.
