Severe weather in Mississippi: Damaging wind gusts, hail and tornadoes possible Wednesday Gabriela Szymanowska, Mississippi Clarion Ledger WATCH: Clarion Ledger subscription video Replay Video UP NEXT Severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, golfball to baseball sized hail and possible tornadoes will pass through Mississippi Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson. Meteorologist Ashlyn Jackson said northern Mississippi will see the most severe weather activity between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. Wednesday. The rest of the surrounding areas will see severe weather activity from noon to midnight, she said.  Most of northern and central Mississippi including the Jackson metro area were raised to a moderate risk level. The risk level for southern Mississippi is at an enhanced-risk level.
