Former Tshwane mayor Murunwa Makwarela has been granted R10 000 bail after pleading not guilty to fraud and uttering charges in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria.
Murunwa Makwarela handed himself over to the Hawks on Monday as he faces charges of fraud in relation to over R1.5 million that he earned from the city since his appointment as councillor from November 2021 to March last year after he failed to declare his insolvency.
Former Tshwane mayor Murunwa Makwarela faces two counts of fraud and was granted R10,000 bail after appearing before the Pretoria specialised commercial crimes court on Monday.
