Instead of participating in a senior prank day, a tradition at Brockton High School, two BHS seniors, Gianna Deveau and Georgina Younes, created a memorial for the three boys who died tragically in Brockton this month We decided to leave bouquets of balloons at the school so that when the students arrive, they would see the balloons and the cards. We hope that it might brighten the students day, Younes said.

East Islip High School senior Julianna Keaney signed a national letter of intent on Feb. 23 to continue her cheerleading career at the University of Delaware in Newark. She received the prestigious Blue Hen Success Grant scholarship from UD, where she plans to major in elementary education.

The 2021 cheerleading team captain for East Islip is a four-year varsity athlete and member of the high school s Foreign Language Honor Society. Keaney earned All-County and All-Long Island Second Team recognition and has also competed on an All-Star team at Gravity Cheer since she was 9 years old.
